This 7 layer screen print has been hand finished with 23.5ct gold leaf, each one using roughly 25 sheets and taking 30 minutes to gild.
The print has been debossed on a traditional press, using a bespoke magnesium die. A method that was used in ornate ephemera back in the Victorian era. A true dedication to traditional printing and advertising methods of the ‘golden era’ Hugely inspired by Cigar labels and early advertising from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. This artwork is essentially a gigantic piece of hand crafted ephemera!
